Empty Tomb-Postscript: Stilling the Tempest
The empty tomb was not a one-and-done-get-grace-and-go-on-your-way miracle. It was a transformative, life-giving act that calls us to embody the Grace-Giver in every aspect of our living. During this Easter season, we’ll reflect on what it means to embody the Grace Giver.
We’ll begin by examining our fears and doubts, the tempests that take over and storm inside our heads and hearts (John 20:19-29). When we are paralyzed by the kind of fear that causes us to shut the door and lock ourselves away from our own trust in the promise of the Resurrection, much less share that promise beyond ourselves, Jesus comes speaking a word of liberating peace. Invite your friends and family to return this Sunday to discover more about the Risen Lord who always shows up, bringing grace and peace, even when our fears would lock him out.
